I first heard Timothy Keller speak at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit in August. His depiction of the story Jesus told, most commonly known as the parable of the prodigal son, was vivid and striking. He presented view on the purpose of the parable that, once heard, is very obvious in the passage. Once the [...]

A Jesus Manifesto

“Christianity” and “Church” have become many things in this day and age. History, culture, the modern age, and the post-modern age have all contributed to various perceptions of what Christianity is or should be. The Church has a history of misapplying Scripture for people’s own gain or power. How do we whittle down to the [...]

I’m back and what a time! We were quite busy given we traveled so much distance in so little time. I think I walked 50km! Each place had its unique characteristics. There was so much beauty to behold. Berlin: I sometimes felt like I was in downtown Toronto. It’s modern, but the east side still [...]

I’m off to Europe this Saturday (March 14-23, 2009). I am going as a chaperone for the Centennial High School trip. Thanks to Mme Kimber for the opportunity. I am honoured and excited. In honour of my dad and all those who fought in WWI and WWII. Today marks the 90th anniversary of the signing of the armistice, November 11, 1918. It was to be the closing of the war to end all wars. Unfortunately, the wars continue. People continue to be mistreated and die unnecessary deaths. However, [...]
Lincoln Brewster's New Album

Lincoln Brewster has released a new album entitled “Today is the Day”. I love this album on several levels. First, there are at least a couple of useable songs for church worship. The opening song sharing the same title as the album is a great up tempo praise song. He also does a great rendition [...]
